Residenza Motta
Residenza Motta is a romantic Ticino house with a dreamy courtyard. Immerse yourself in its peaceful atmosphere surrounded by Mediterranean plant life including the kilometre palm tree. Climbing the original open Ticino stairway you will find 15 newly renovated, tastefully furnished 1-2 room apartments. All of the units have cable TV and a radio. In the garden area and in most apartments is a Free Wi Fi (WLAN) access.
Residenza Motta is a 3-star lodging. Owners Barbara and Urs Schmid speak and understand English and look forward to hosting English speaking guests from all over the world in their house. We rent our apartments also for 3 nights. The Residenza Motta is open all the year.
Residenza Motta is situated in the heart of the charming old town (Città Vecchia) of Locarno near the Piazza Grande and the Visconteo Castle. You find it between two pedestrian alleyways, Via Motta and Via Rusca. In the Italian styled old town of Locarno you will find renovated antique houses, romantic courts, churches and museums. Elegant shops, food-stores, banks, a post office, pharmacy and restaurants/coffee-bars are steps away. To go to the railway station of Locarno or to the lake shore of Lago Maggiore or to the famous Lido of Locarno (public bathing with beach, indoor and outdoor swimming) you need not more than 10 minutes by foot.
